Teen Hope is a parish based faith outreach to teenagers.
It provides opportunities and continued support for teenagers to encounter and get to know God in Jesus Christ, through fun and exciting activities, while building faith friendships.
Its aim is to help the young person discover their true value and worth, inspired by Jeremiah 29:11: “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for your peace, not disaster, reserving a future full of hope for you.”
The Dublin Diocese youth team (The Young Church Dublin) has developed a training program for volunteers from parishes to help run Teen Hope in their local area. Since September we have been joined by leaders from the parishes of Blanchardstown, Glasnevin, Maynooth, Coolock, Marino, Ballymun and Marley Grange. The training takes place over 4 Saturdays (1 a month) from September to December and there is a safeguarding training day in January. Training modules include: Our faith journey, accompaniment, See Judge Act method with YCW, engaging young people using Trocaire resources and launching out into the deep with young people. Since September we have been joined by leaders from the parishes of Blanchardstown, Glasnevin, Maynooth, Coolock, Marino, Ballymun and Marley Grange.
